The story
I didn't start as a consultant. I started as a GM.
For years I ran a stone fabrication and installation business serving the Metro Vancouver multifamily and commercial construction market. I know what it feels like to manage estimators, chase quotes, and answer to a founding partner who wants to know — right now — what the pipeline looks like.
I also know what it feels like to not have a good answer. To know the business is doing well but not be able to prove it. To watch quotes go out the door and disappear because there was no system to follow up. To understand, clearly, that the business would be worth significantly more if it could run without any one person holding it together.
So I built the system. I built it inside our existing Microsoft 365 — no new software, no platform fees, no workflow change. I used Excel, Power Automate, SharePoint, and Power BI. I tested it, documented it, and watched it change how we operated. Every quote generated in minutes. Every quote logged automatically. A dashboard that answered in thirty seconds the questions that used to take a week to dig out.
Then I realized: every trades founder I know has the same problem. And none of the software companies trying to sell them something have actually run their kind of business. That's the gap W3M fills.
